Expert Notes

WHY THE ORIGINAL GEARS FAIL

The climate-control motor turns small plastic gears to move the air-distribution flaps every time the temperature or vent setting changes. The fine teeth wear and eventually strip, so the motor spins without moving the flap — you hear a repeated clicking or ticking behind the dashboard and the airflow or temperature will not change. New gears restore the drive and stop the noise.

WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE ORDERING

Confirm your car is a Partner / Partner Tepee II, Berlingo II, or C4 Picasso I with the electric climate flap actuator, and compare the tooth count and gear shape to your old parts. These gears sit inside the actuator, so colour and finish do not matter for fit.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION NOTES

Locate the flap actuator on the heater/AC housing, remove it, and open it to reach the gears, noting the flap's rest position so you can set it back the same way. Fit the new gears, mesh them correctly with the motor, reassemble, and run the climate control through its settings to confirm the flaps move smoothly and the noise is gone.
