WHY THESE TABS FAIL AND HOW THIS KIT SOLVES IT

The Corolla E210's slim LED headlights hang on thin moulded plastic tabs, and a light parking knock, a stone impact transmitted through the bumper, or plain heat ageing is enough to snap one or more of them. The expensive headlight unit itself usually survives, but with a broken tab it can no longer be tightened: it wobbles over bumps, sits with an uneven gap to the bumper and wing, and slowly works its beam out of alignment. This kit replaces the broken tabs with screw-on POM brackets that anchor into sound sections of the housing, restoring a rigid mounting for a small fraction of the price of a new LED headlight.

WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE PURCHASING

This kit serves the LEFT headlight and is referenced to Toyota OE number 81170-02T30; the right side is a separate mirrored kit under 81130-02T30, so confirm the side before ordering. It fits the Corolla XII (E210) family, covering the Hatchback from 2018 and the Saloon and Estate from 2019; earlier Corolla generations use different headlights whose tabs do not match. Inspect your housing before buying: the brackets need intact plastic around the broken tab area to screw into, so a housing shattered across its mounting face may still require replacement.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION NOTES

Remove the front bumper as required on the E210 and withdraw the headlight, then cut or grind away the remnants of the broken tabs so each bracket sits flat on the housing surface. Offer each bracket up to its position, pre-drill pilot holes if the housing material is thick at that point, and drive the supplied screws without overtightening, since excessive torque will crack the housing. Refit the headlight, torque the body fixings evenly, and check panel gaps to the wing and bumper before final assembly. Finish with a beam alignment check on a proper aimer, because the E210's LED units project a sharp cutoff line that makes even small mounting errors visible at night.
