WHY THE ORIGINAL REFLECTOR FAILS AND HOW THIS PART FIXES IT

The rear bumper reflectors on the Clio IV sit low on the corners of the bumper, where they take pressure-washer jets, kerb scuffs and the flex of the bumper skin in every light parking touch. Their clips relax with years of vibration until one day the reflector is simply gone, leaving a bare rectangular hole, or the lens stays in place but its prisms craze and whiten so it no longer returns light. Either way the car loses a legally required safety feature: a following driver's headlights no longer pick out the rear corner in the dark, and a missing or dull reflector is a common reason for a failed periodic inspection. This replacement lens is moulded in optical-grade red PMMA with the full prism field and E approval marking, so it clips into the original recess and restores the reflective performance the bumper was designed with.

WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE YOU BUY

Confirm your car is a Clio IV built between 2012 and 2021; the Clio III and Clio V use different reflector shapes, and this lens fits the right-hand recess only, with the left side being a mirrored part. Compare the long, slim, curved outline and the clip positions with your empty recess or the old reflector. This is a passive reflector without a bulb: if your bumper has a small lamp unit with wiring in this position, your version uses a different part. The red colour is fixed by regulation and identical across all trim levels, so no colour matching is needed.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION NOTES

Clear any fragments of the old reflector and dirt from the bumper recess so the clips can seat fully. Offer the new reflector to the opening with the curved edge following the bumper contour, then press it in evenly until each clip clicks home; if the old reflector is still in place, release its clips from the inner face of the bumper, reachable from below or with the wheel-arch liner edge pulled back, rather than prising the lens from outside. Do not use adhesive as a substitute for engaged clips, because a glued lens will not survive a pressure wash. Check that the reflector sits flush with the bumper surface and matches the height of the left-hand one.
