This roof aerial base replaces the standard roof antenna foot on a wide range of Ford models, including the Focus, Mondeo, Fiesta, Escort, Ka, Puma, Fusion, C-Max, Kuga and Transit. It combines a weather-resistant EPDM rubber body with a metal threaded stud for the aerial mast. It replaces a cracked, perished or leaking original base that lets water into the roof lining or no longer holds the mast securely. The new base restores a watertight seal and solid mast mounting for clear radio reception. Colour may vary by production batch and does not affect fitment or performance.

Expert Notes

WHY THE AERIAL BASE FAILS

The roof aerial base on these Fords is exposed to sun, frost, car washes and the leverage of the mast for many years. The rubber body hardens and cracks, the seal to the roof perishes, and the base can work loose. Water then runs down the aerial cable into the headlining, often showing up as damp patches or stains, while a loose base lets the mast rattle and reduces reception. This EPDM base with a new metal stud restores a weather-tight seal and a firm mounting without replacing the complete aerial system.

WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE YOU BUY

This base matches Ford OE 95GP-18828-AF (Finis 1087087), the standard roof aerial base for vehicles with a normal radio aerial. Vehicles with a factory sat-nav, combined GPS/phone antenna or shark-fin aerial use different parts and are not covered. Check that your existing mast screws onto the stud and compare the base shape with the photos, as some later models and estates may use a different base. The aerial mast is not included; reuse your original mast or replace it separately.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION NOTES

Disconnect the battery and carefully lower the rear of the headlining, or remove the interior light where applicable, to reach the aerial fixing and cable. Unplug the aerial cable, undo the fixing and lift the old base off the roof. Clean the roof around the hole and remove any old sealant or corrosion. Fit the new base so it sits flat and fully sealed, tighten the fixing firmly without crushing the rubber, reconnect the cable and refit the headlining. Screw on the mast, check radio reception and, ideally, test with water that the roof is sealed.
