WHY WASHER JETS FAIL AND HOW THIS SET SOLVES IT

The bonnet-mounted washer jets on these VW Group models live in the harshest spot on the car: baked by engine heat from below and sun from above, fed by fluid that leaves mineral deposits in the fine spray channels. Over the years the outlets clog, the plastic cracks and the check valve inside weakens, so the washers dribble onto the paint, spray to one side or barely reach the glass. This pair of POM jets replaces both positions in one repair, restoring the factory spray pattern that the wipers depend on for a clean sweep.

WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE PURCHASING

This set serves the unheated bonnet-mounted washer system referenced by OE 6E0955985, 6E0955985A and 6E0955985B, shared across the VW Golf IV, Bora, Passat B5, Polo III to V, Lupo, Fox, New Beetle, Touareg I, Transporter T5, up!, Gol and Voyage, the Seat Ibiza, Cordoba, Arosa, Mii and Toledo IV, and the Skoda Superb I and Rapid family. If your vehicle has heated washer jets, the original will carry an electrical connector and uses a different part, so compare your jet before ordering. The set contains two nozzles, covering the left and right position.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION NOTES

Open the bonnet, squeeze the old jet's retaining clips from underneath and push it out of its opening, then disconnect the washer hose. Connect the hose to the new nozzle, press it into the opening until the clips lock and repeat on the other side. Test the spray and fine-tune the aim by rotating the spray inserts gently with a needle so both jets hit the upper third of the windscreen; flush the system with clean fluid if the old jets were clogged with deposits.
