WHY THE REGULATOR FAILS

On the Dodge Nitro the front door glass rides on a plastic carrier clip pulled up and down by steel cables wound on a plastic drum. Door weight, frost and heavy daily use fray the cables, crack the drum and break the carrier, so the window drops, sticks halfway or grinds while the motor still runs. This kit replaces exactly those wear parts, restoring the regulator without the cost of a complete assembly.

CHECK BEFORE YOU BUY

This kit is for the front left regulator of the Dodge Nitro, which carries OE 68004821AA (also 68043558AA). The OE numbers refer to the complete regulator; this kit repairs that regulator and does not replace it. Confirm that the regulator motor still runs, and compare the drum and carrier clip with your originals before dismantling. PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION NOTES

Disconnect the battery, remove the door card and moisture barrier, and tape the glass in the raised position before unbolting the regulator. Photograph the original cable routing and spring positions, then fit the new drum, carrier clip, springs and cables exactly as original and pre-tension the cables before reassembly. Refit the regulator to the motor, run the window through its full travel several times and check that the glass closes fully against the upper seal before refitting the trim.
