This right-hand window regulator repair kit is built for the electric double-rail regulator of the Porsche Boxster (987), Cayman (987) and 911 (997), referenced under OE 98754207601. It contains three pre-assembled stainless steel cables with their conduits and fittings, a POM cable drum and two tension springs. WHY THIS REGULATOR FAILS

The 987 and 997 doors use frameless glass on an electric double-rail Bowden cable regulator. The window also drops slightly every time the door opens or closes. This constant extra cycling wears the cables and the plastic drum faster than on a framed door. Once a cable frays or jumps the drum, the glass moves crookedly, stalls, or drops into the door, and the door can no longer seal properly against the roof or hardtop. This kit replaces every wear part of the cable drive while keeping the original rails, carriers and motor. The result is factory-correct travel and sealing at a fraction of the cost of a complete regulator.

WHAT TO CHECK BEFORE BUYING

Confirm that your car uses the double-rail regulator referenced under OE 98754207601, 98754207600 or 98754207602, and compare the old drum and cable ends with the parts shown. This kit is for the right-hand door only; the left door uses a mirror-image regulator. The rails, glass carriers and motor must be undamaged, because this kit does not replace them. The colour may vary by production batch and does not affect fitment or performance.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION NOTES

Disconnect the battery and support the glass with tape before releasing it from the carriers. Before stripping the old regulator, photograph or mark the cable routing, and keep the order of the colour-tagged cable loops. Seat each cable end fully in the drum, lightly grease the rails, and set tension with the supplied springs and the tensioner. Cycle the regulator by hand before refitting the glass. After reassembly, reconnect the battery and run the window fully up and down, holding the switch for a few seconds at each end. This re-initialises the short-drop function so the glass seals correctly.
